    Hi people,

I have recently decided that I will be treating myself this christmas with a new notebook. I have been looking around and have found two (actually 3) alternatives and I just cant decide. I would be VERY grateful for some help here.

    I will be deciding between:
    Acer TravelMate 4502 WLMi
    Acer Aspire 2023 WLMi
and possibly a SONY Vaio VGN A215Z

The design of the TravelMate seems really nice from the images but the dimensions in the specs seem huge, could anyone who has seen it physically comment here maybe?

The design of the Aspire somehow puts me off and I have been told that it is very big but it seems the most powerful?

The Sony ive also not seen nor heard of, any ideas?

Thanks to you all so much !!! [ :)]

I've compared all the specs from the 3 units and this is what I got:

    Acer Travelmate 4502WLMi (WxDxH) 364 x 279 x 33.9/38.9mm (2.95Kg)
    Acer Aspire 2023WLM 360 x 273 x 28-33.5mm (3Kg)
    Sony Vaio VGN A215Z 373.2 x 276.5 x 37.2-43.5mm (3.3Kg)

From the listed specs, the Sony seems to be the largest unit while the Acer Aspire 2023WLMi is the smallest. Weight wise, it's pretty decent.

From the listed units, I'd rate them:

    1. Acer Aspire 2023WLMi - Good computing power, excellent video card (ATI 9700 w/128MB), smallest listed unit and fairly light, slot loading optical drive

    2. Acer Travelmate 4502WLMi - Good Computing power, excellent video card (ATI9700 w/64MB), fairly small (2nd smallest), lightest of 3 units, good design, has XP Pro as standard OS

    3. Sony Vaio VGN A215Z - Great computing power, good video card (ATI 9200 w/64MB) would be better if it had an ATI 9700, heaviest of 3 units, largest of 3 units, pretty confident it's the most expensive unit of the 3

I'd recommend the 2023, if the design still turns you off, get the 4502 which is still a smaller/lighter/less expensive/more feature loaded system than the Sony.
