Hi all, this is my first post here and i'm bound to make the typical newbie mistakes(wrong section, etc etc). so forgive me in advance.

Anyways here is my question, quite a simple one. I have an Acer TravelMate 4730 Intel Core2Duo P8700 @2.53GHz 3GB Ram, Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Chipset. My question is, what is the the maximum amount of ram can my mobo support?

    Thanks

According to a service manual for this model it supports up to 4GB RAM although it's possible that it would support 8GB too.

The problem is it's DDR2 and if I remember correctly 4GB DDR2 modules are not in accordance with DDR2 spec and while such modules do exist no one can guarantee that these would work with your laptop.
