    Hello All,

My TravelMate 8204 was stolen awhile ago, and I'm thinking of getting this:

(I live in Canada in case you're wondering)

Its the new gemstone I believe. Anyone else have this? I can't find any reviews on this specific model either.

Any info/advice would be nice, thanks.

Could you tell us about the notebook? There is really almost no reviews available on the internet (at least I could not find any). Could you do a mini-review perhaps, touching on the same points that are talked about in notebookreview.com reviews?

    Hi,
I actually just bought the Acer Travelmate 6592 (although what I have is 12.1" screen. I hope I made the right the decision. It was between this and the

The acer has Windows XP (which my work supports) and the Toshiba has Windows Vista. The Toshiba only has 1 gig RAM. I don't know much about computers, but I was sold on Acer -- it's $400 more. Office Depot has a few left on the Toshiba ($680).

Please tell me if I made the right decision. I will be using the laptop for school and work.

    Thanks

They told me that the Acer's features are far better and updated than the Toshiba, which is now discontinued (probably why Office Depot is selling it at discounted rate)

Also, it would cost me about $100 to upgrade the Toshiba to 2 gig, plus another $130 to convert to Windows XP
