    Hello,

I have a TravelMate 7520 with Crystal Eye Webcam, I had to reinstall my vista. Once this was done my webcam didnt work, it showed camera not found.
I have been playing about with it, which ended up meaning I unstall everything (I think). I have installed loads of drivers and software for the webcam but all failed, the camera just doesnt seem to turn on...
I have taken my screen apart unplugged it, uninstalled software, plugged in and reinstall but nothing..Plus once I have installed the driver, I look in device manager and see nothing relating to my webcam.

Can someone tell me what I need to download, how to install and how to check the driver is in place ;)

Thank you for your help, really thank you to all!!
    James

    This won't help :D ;)

A screenshot of your extended Device Manger might help a lot.
If I recall correctly the Webcam is connected somehow to the USB ports. Try to remove all usb devices(controllers, root hubs etc.), restart and let Windows reinstall them all.

Here is the screenshot of my device manager...No Imaging Devices? Should I worry?

Can you explain to me this idea of removing all USB devices, sure it will reinstall them all? What will it effect if it doesnt reinstall them?

Also can someone please tell me where to go and which driver and APP I need to get...as I have tried so many different ones, I need one that is right for my TravelMate 7520.

    Thank you
    Regards,
    James

    Check this link:

    ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/travelmate_7520/vista/Drivers/

There are 3 types of drivers for Webcam there. You tried 'em all?

About the USB thing I told you before - don't do it, it's pointless at least for now.

Also I found an old thread you've created - maybe some of the suggestions will work this time. By the way, from your first post there you'll see what I meant with the USB uninstall :D

    Hey Atthegates,

Honestly I have tried them all, also tried all the things on my old thread.

AND tried those drivers :p So do I need to install the driver setup and do the app setup? as that is what I have been doing.

    Hello,

Sorry I tried all those links and everytime I clicked download it came up with this:
Downloading is currently impossible, because the link generated for your IP address XX.XXX.XXX.XX is now obsolete

Any chance you can host them somewhere else please? Sorry to be a pain, just doesnt seem to want to work.

    Regards,
    James

How come just tried them and they works fine for me? What happens when you try to open a link? Try with a different browser.
