The long title is to help others that may search for recover or restore to find this thread. Finally, after a year or so, i finally had my laptop running again. I tried to take it to an acer representative, boot disks restores, but nothing worked. So, a friend of mine gave me a hint. So, if someone by accident erase a bios, and the laptop starts making 1 (one) long noise and 2 (two) short ones, you can try this, remove the laptop battery, remove the cmos bios battery, and start the laptop with the power cord. And that's it, it starts normally again. To reach the cmos battery it's necessary to remove the buttons cover and the keyboard. But the problem that caused me to erase the bios accidentely, remains. I don't remember the bios password and i can't erase it. I left the laptop without both batterys (laptop and cmos) for more than an hour and entered the bios, but the password remains. Can anyone give me an hint on how to remove the password, or could this be a password that acer placed it and it never erases? Thank you!

Discussion related to bypassing security measures like passwords are prohibited by the forum rules. If you legally obtained the laptop, contact the original owner or Acer should be able to help you(most likely for a fee).
