ummmmmmm Danger Danger Will Roberson - I had a Dell that had a similar issue then one day the power off and on did not fix it - the Hard Drive was cooked. (letting the Laptop sit cools the HD down - another trick to get one more boot for a cooked HD for an emergency baclup is place the HD in the Freezer)

If I were you I would ensure you have a good backup and maybe start looking for a new HD

Edit : Or might be loose connections .... if possible open up and check the HD and if the DVD is a modular Bay check that as well.

This problem araises mostly when i move my laptop while it is on ; if it is in its place then no problem ; araises also with slow movements like closing and opening lcd ;also i notice that dvd is not placed 100% inside socket and afraid to push it inside ; also if this problem araises i solve it by closing lap then turn it on again and making it standing vertically toward its left side (the side where HD and DVD is placed ) then at this moment lap fells harddisk and works correctly ; any suggestions ? sorry for my bad english language
