I had my laptop on for a couple of hours, left it running and when I returned a small part of the screen on the right hand side had faded to white. I've tried rebooting and playing around with the resolution settings but nothing helps.

Is this a sign that my screen is slowly but gradually failing? It doesn't appear to affect anything working though.

Any help would be grateful as I am not very IT knowledgeable!

I have the same problem with the LCD panel fade to withe and its start from the down left corner. This starts randomly and after the mega brightness, stripes in multiple-colors appear on the screen. I have a ACER aspire 5021 and its about 2½ year. I have found out that sometimes when I press at the down left corner of the screen it dissapear, but I need to press continuously.... Is it the LCD panel or somthing with the cabel connection?
