My Acer Travelmate 4402WLMi, about 1.75 yrs old, has died. It didn't get a whole lot of use. I bought it to do business demos, and use my desktops most of the time.

It began with problems turning on, the lights would come on and the DVD drive would spin up, but the screen remained blank. (no back light) Power cycling, by holding the power button for a few seconds to turn it off, would bring it up after a few tries. After a few weeks of this, it now will not come up no matter how many times I try.

Battery or AC power makes no difference. I've removed all periferals, (HD, DVDRW, Wireless NIC) and tried different sticks of ram and an external monitor. The most life I can get out of it is by removing all the ram, then I get a beep code.

Any kind of tech info might be helpful, test points to check for the voltages, where are the voltage regulators, etc. (I know the periferals are getting power, but I don't know if the CPU is.) The service manual would be great.

Any help, comments, or suggestions, would be greaty appreciated!

    Thanks,
