I have a Acer Travelmate 4501WLMi that worked great for the first year that I had it. I lent it to my Mother in Law and she gave it back with a corrupt registry. I reloaded a backup of the registry an it started up without any issues. It worked for about 3 months after that but then started locking up quite often.

I formated the Machine and loaded Vista Business on it (XP PRO was my previous OS) and I still experience the occasional lockup (just not as bad). If I use the machine for 3 - 4 hours it might lock up 2 - 6 times. These lockups could be as short as 5 seconds but sometimes they can last up to a minute.

I have run a memory check and a hard drive test from the UBCD but it didn't find anything wrong.

NOW my screen has artifacts all over that change color and also position. It starts when I first turn my machine on and continues to happen in Windows.

At first I thought it was because my VideoCard was getting hot so I left it off overnight, when i turned it on first thing this morning I had the same issue at the bios screen.

If it is the Video Card, can the Video Card be replaced? Where would I get a replacement from?
