    Hey!
I just bought an Acer Travelmate 5740 (core i3) (DOS installed) when i try to switch it on for the first time, after setting language, the next screen asks me to create a password and confirm it, now the problem is when i try to type a password, nothing appears on screen, there is no input into the password field. I can't move pass this step because i press next, the setup prompts me that i need to enter a password. Now, keyboard is working fine, all the function keys are working and i have successfully manage to enter the date and time values by F2 at startup and entering BIOS.
I need help about how can i proceed further from setting password step, i mean why can't i be able to enter a password during that step.
    Thanks in advance!

Maybe its like with Linux and when you type passwords you don't see * or anything, but you still type characters. So if you want to proceed just type a password(it doesn't matter that you don't see it).I doubt you will stay with DOS so you can just install Windows or Linux.

Then just install Windows or Liunux. Why do you want to boot that DOS?

Exactly, its much easier with windows/linux. Why do you want dos anyways? Its a shame for core i3 to run on a dos machine.
