Hi, i am planning to buy one of those two...which one do you prefer?
Also do you know where to buy 9-cell (third parties cheaper maybe ?) for the acer travelmate 6292 and asus f9s because both of them have pretty slow battery life...

You've obviously done a resonable research on both.
Also, from your choice of both models I infer that your prefer compactness for portability which suggest you (intend to) carry your (new) notebook quite oftenly.
Put simply, the TM6292 is more suitable for rugged use as it has 3D shock-sensor to protect the harddrive and spill-resistant keyboard to protect the motherboard from accidental liquid spillage. These features alone give you more peace of mind. Assuming you do carry your notebook around oftenly, these features are beneficial to you and will likely to result in lower maintenance / repair cost in the long run.
I tend to view TM series as Acer's own versions of the ThinkPad.

The Asus F9S has good specs for its size and Asus has been enjoying a reputation for being low in lag and good in graphics as these have to be the case for demanding gamers. Please confirm that you are comfortable with the temperature generated by Asus in high load usage.
The point is, do you need more demanding graphics performance ? If so, Asus is preferable.
I have not much comment on cheaper batteries. Personally I do not see any big issue in getting original (high-cap) batteries even if they cost more. The battery can last on average over 5,000 charge cycles. Given sensible usage and care, they can last for quite a while. Furthermore, you get the assurance of quality using original batteries.
How oftenly do you buy batteries to cause concern ?
