    I greet you.
After a successful change from 8400 to the 8600GT I wanted to put the 9600GT with DDR3
and there was a problem: black screen
    I have two graphics cards:
    1.VG.9PG06.002 / samsung 816 K4J10324QD-HC12
    2.VG.9PG0Y.005 / samsung 822 K4J10324QD-HC12

    Card number 1:
-no image on the display but the system logs and it works (I can turn the music player and other stuff)
-no signal on external monitor output

    Card number 2:
-nothing ... no picture, no sound, and w8ing ....

I read about a blind flash but it is almost impossible or at least having a big luck
Does anyone from honorable group of users have any ideas ??

Blind flash would only apply if you had a bios file you know would work. In that case it's easy, you just slap your original card in, change the boot order to your CD/USB stick, put your new card in, boot the machine and type the flash text and wait a minute or two.

Kothletino, what did you use to connect to an external monitor? I remember that another user (with an xx20G machine) had to connect to an external via HDMI to install a newer set of drivers, after which the 9600M GT functioned properly on all screens.

The problem is that the notebook is not new, and external output is
    1. Digital DVI
    2. Analog DSUB

I tried just DSUB. There are many threads on acer aspire, but not travelmate: /
Compatible with all cards is the same as 8400GS, 8600GT, 9600GT (class B)
I read with uploading the video card bios from Acer solves the problem of black screen. How to do it when I see nothing (I mean the graphics card bios, not the motherboard or graphics drivers from Windows)
I know that it can run but not required.
I would like to add that the screen is black all the time when you log into the system too, but I can perform operations "by groping".

    Video card bios:

From what I know Acer not let graphics cards on the desktop market, so it comes to mobile graphics card bios.
Do you think that there is any chance of uploading the bios on a black screen?

I searched, read, thought, and I have some questions because my ability to act in the DOS are weak.
The materials that I have to make bios flash:

    1. NVFlash 5.100.0.1
    Download NVFlash 5.100.0.1 | techPowerUp

    2. Acer.9600MGT.512.080630.bin
    techPowerUp! :: Video Bios Collection
    (first from top)

    3.WYBOROWA 0,200 ml of 40% voltage
    http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/7827/helpern.jpg
(I used a little to see if works, and it works)

I made a bootable USB flash drive when I start it looks like this:
    http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/277/startuy.jpg
and now a small series of questions because I'm a noob:

1 a). What is the correct command to run NVFlash:
    - "nvflash-p-u-f biosname"
    or
    - "nvflash -p -u -f biosname"

1 b). Is it enough to enter "nvflash ... biosname"to begin flash or maybe I need to write something earlier?

2 a). Bios is in the extension. bin, but from what I have read the program needs
extension. rom. Can I just change the extension in the file name or can I use the file format. bin?

    2 b). Bios file name is "Acer.9600MGT.512.080630.bin"
Can I replace it with a shorter name, say "acer.bin" or if it is possible "acer.rom" with no negative impact on the file?

    3. Use before or after the flash?

Forgive me if I ask stupid questions but I've never did a flash of video card, I just don't know what to expect. ;)

    also found:
    "nvflash-b backup.rom" (Normal BIOS Backup)
    "nvflash -5 -6 newbios.rom" (Normal BIOS Flash)
    "-4 -5 -6 nvflash newbios.rom" (Forced BIOS Flash)

I read the instructions that were provided with NVFlash and so:
    -4 = no information
-5 = Allow firmware and adapter PCI device ID is a mismatch.
-6 = Allow firmware and adapter PCI subsystem ID is a mismatch.
Well, now I'm standing here with nothing, someone help me with the departure of the correct command to flash?

    I tried on my own:
    nvflash -4 -5 -6 a96.bin [i get 2 beeps]
nvflash -4 -5 -6 a96.rom (changed by editing the file name extension) [nothing but if you push any button I get again 2 beeps]

I read with two beeps in NVFlash means that "NO NVIDIA ADAPTER FOUND"
from forum about graphics cards for desktop computers
I think that if it comes to mobile graphics cards this may be the same
so i stock again ... it makes me go creazy :S
    anyone has any ideas ?

Sounds like you know what you're doing actually.

I would give all of those a try if I were you.
    LOL
yes, an absolute necessity for certain :D
never heard of some of those. I think the best is what you used below, but:
    nvflash -j -4 -5 -6
Here is where you probably went wrong...
After you press enter, you have to press Y to confirm override sometimes... give it a try ;)

I got an idea, because I've never did flash the video card, I put the old gf8400gs
then save the bios and then went to dos, I introduced the command
nvflash-j -4 -5 -6 biosname.rom (rom because such an extension requires the program, I changed simply by editing the file name) and then pressed the "y" while waiting to hear the sound and it worked. (the whole process was visible on the screen)

I swapped the cards back to gf9600gt and started to flash, and so
nvflash-j -4 -5 -6 biosname.rom "enter" w8 for a moment and push the "y" after pressing once heard a beep (strange because in the case of 8400 pressed the "y" I waited a moment, and only appeared a brief sound meaning the ending , I think that this could be confirmed to upload different BIOS than the current one), again a little while to wait and hear the single beep (during the 8400 flash single beep signified a positive ending flash) ran the notebook once again, unfortunately, in the case gf9600gt nothing has changed, the screen is still black ...(the whole process wasn't visible on the screen)

As someone said, "This might work, but not necessarily"
    my ideas are over ...

I may have to modify the BIOS of the motherboard how do you think?

My Acer TravelMate 7720G has a resolution of 1400x900
Bios graphics card comes with the Travelmate 7730G model, and this has a resolution of 1440x900
Perhaps a different resolution of the two models stand in the way of proper operation of the screen.
Will the introduction of the new resolution settings in the BIOS graphics card possible?
