    Hello-

Does anyone know if a stick of 512MB PC2700 RAM will be compatible with an Acer Travelmate 800LCi? Thanks.

It will probably work, but will run at PC2100 speed, 266Mhz. By the way, if the 800LCI is too slow, why not upgrade to a faster hard drive. It will increase system performance greatly. The only reason to get a new one is to get a faster GPU. For surfing and office a 1.3Ghz will do fine. Good Luck.

I am going to buy an Acer Ferrari 4005WMLi for me and I will give my Travelmate 800LCi to my wife. I am going to upgrade the RAM to 1 GB and upgrade the hard drive to a 60 GB 5400rpm seagate so that my wife will have a computer that will last her a very long time. Right now she has a really crappy Dell and it is about time that she get rid of it (it is really, really slow). Thank you for the info and the suggestion.
