Hi guyz....i've been checking out this forum everyday for quite a while..great job and thanx everyone [ :D]

    I was wondering if anyone owns a TM8006lmi? I had 2...well, both burnt out..literally...

The first one: I was using it like normal, then the screen turned white...yeap, all white...and the power button turned off(it was on AC power, battery not plugged in). Next thing i know, it would not turn on anymore. I had to return this to the person whom i bought it from and got a refund. [V]

Second one: I decided to get the similar model..from a different person. This lasted hardly a week...the same thing happened. But i got full warranty for this set..contacted Acer and they scheduled a fedex pickup for my unit tomorrow..so far the service is good (i've read on bad experiances and good ones as well)

Was i really out of luck? 2 similar model, same problems..[?]
Anyway the specs are: 2.0 Dothan, 1 Gig ram, 80 gig HDD, MR 9700 128MB..stock standard, never opened any part of the notebook before.

    Thanx all...

Sounds like really bad luck there...

You werent using them in the shower by any chance? I've read that can be really bad for them. [)]

Ok, I really shouldnt joke. If you were using the right adapter (obviously) then it must have just been an incredible coincidence.

Hehe..wouldn't want it to get wet..it's like flushing money down the toilet bowl..kekeke [ :D]

Well, some guy from notebookforums.com had a 8003lmi and he also experianced the same problem as me...he's using his 3rd replacement 8003lmi now...hehehe

Really a huge coincidence..sent back to Acer today..they had fedex pick up it from my house..so far their services are good..hopefully it stays good..ehhe

nuts i tell you..hahaa...best part...it was acer's flagship model, well..until the infamous 8100 came to take its throne [ ;)]
I'm speculating heating problems....unit was pretty darn hot (hotter than usual) when it blacked out...
