    hey good people

I have a problem with my Acer Travelmate 8104wlmi-
It shuts down without warning when it gets hot only when I play games or running 3d apps. It manages to (from cold) get hot while I play only in few min.
If I set my cpu speed to medium =800mhz instead of 2000 it runs without shutting down. The heat is concentreded just under the mouse pad.

Anyone got a clue- hope I can avoid sending my babe to the hospital

Try and clean the vents in the notebook. Use some compressed air, and try to remove the dust that gets lodged in the heatsink for the notebook. It may be useful to purchase a cooling pad. They have been known to help reduce the temperatures of notebooks, by a substantial amount.
