The scroll button on my touch pad has stopped functioning for some reason. Is there a setting that can disable the function?

I know that with my lappie Synaptics Pointing Device must be enabled on startup for it to work. (It must be visible in the Taskbar).

Ya that is bit annoying. The scroll button on my 8204 would just stop working, sometimes after working fine for weeks or months. I'm sure it is not a hardware issue but a driver issue. I tried re-enabling everything in the properties window for the touchpad and nothing seemed to bring that functionality back. The only thing that would bring it back was installing the newest synaptics driver, then it would be fine. They seem to update those drivers quite often. I installed the latest one a month or so ago, and my scroll button has been working fine since. Hopefully it will stay that way.

GO and get a new driver here...
