    Hi everyone...
OK, here's the thing...I have Acer Travelmate C110, and keyboard on it needs replacement. It's really hard to find one, even online and all the ones that I did find are 84 key keyboards (NSK-A5001). Mine is 85 key keyboard and from what I found online that is NSK-A500G. I am not going to unscrew the keyboard cos' I don't want to mess something up, so I can't be sure if that's the model number I need.
Anyway, with out complicating too much, my question is: Can I order an 84 key keyboard and replace my 85 key one with it, and will it still work normally?
Also if anyone happens to know where I could get an 85 key one please let me know.
    Thanks.

p.s. no I can't install a USB keyboard (I have HDD pass on and well with out the working keyboard I can't type in the password)

Well it doesn't...it appears I would have to restart the computer for it to "be installed"...anyway that's no solution, I need a new keyboard

any USB keyboard SHOULD be detected on BOOT and the BIOS should provide LEGACY keyboard support as long as the keyboard was plugged in before the system is powered up..

that should allow you to type in your HDD password... if not then you'll have to replace the keyboard to get past your problem

wish i could be more help
