    Seriously!

Well i've noticed a few odd things with my Extensa 4420 lately:

1st I think there is either a short, a loose wire, or the LCD inverter is starting to fail. I've been getting what amounts to scanlines on my LCD screen. This only happens when i move the screen: adjusting or closing. If i move it slightly the "scanlines" go away.

2nd along with that if i have my laptop near my HD TV set it keeps sending some sort of signal to turn on my TV! I could have the laptop across the room and as long as it is has a clear line to my TV it will keep sending that signal.. really weird. Anyone ever have that happen on any of their Acers? Or is mine possessed? heh

Side note the receiver on my media center also picks up the signal but does nothing to it.

Turn off Infrared (CIR) in the BIOS Setup Options.

About the scanlines: It probably isn't the inverter. It powers the cold cathode florescent light so you would get background light problems.

It's probably loose screen cable or damaged screen. When I broke mine, I'd get lines which would disappear when I move the screen. Let's all hope it's loose cable :).
