    Hi guys,

I own a Acer Aspire V3-471G bought 8 months back.
Everything was going fine until a month back.

My laptop shutdown automatically without any notice and restarts immediately . It happens only when I move the laptop from one place to another as like a sudden small shock applied to it, like by lifting it. Also when I shook the lid(monitor).

When I contacted the customer service they told it was a malware problem and asked me to reset to factory settings.

But i don't think it was a virus as I have paid full version anti-virus software installed.

    So pls help ppl.

Yes, they should replace it with a proper working laptop, if they offer to repair it, don't accept.

I doubt they have to replace it. They most likely have to provide you with a working laptop- by replacing or repairing it (it may not be your choice though).

Either way- the notebook is still under warranty and it's a good idea to send it to Acer and get it sorted out for free.

Today I went to the Service center and they told like they will repair the unit and process it within next 7 days.

Will it take that long or can I claim for an replacement??

(I bought on 9th May '12 and it been only 5 month 15 days..!)

Also can I claim the same V3?

I'm not sure where you are situated, it all depends on how the consumer rights are protected in your country, if the retailer refuses to replace it, take it up with the manufacturer. Tell Acer, you will publish the story in a local paper or TV station, these so called big companies are scared of bad publicity.
