    Hi.

Bought laptop about 375 days ago, but don't have proof of purchase due to throwing away receipt a few months after purchasing laptop.

Purchased an "Acer Advantage" warranty extension pack for £50.00, but it says you need receipt as proof of date of purchase.

Surely there is a way around this? I mean, they can't basically say "no receipt - no extended warranty", can they?

Surely all info is on their system if I provided S/N of laptop?

    Did you register the warranty?

If I recall (been a while since I looked at mine) you have to register the extended warranty (before the original runs out) and that does it all for you.

Lesson of the day would however be READ WARRANTY INFORMATION

Yeah if you didnt register it in 30 days they supposedly can void the warranty even after spending money for it. If you did, then try to contact the place you bought it from or your bank to see if there is somthing they cn do to prove the date of purchase.

hi Im hoping someone on here can give me a bit of advice regarding the acer advantage extended warranty? I bought an acer travelmate c310 from ebay ,it was used but in excellent condition, after 4 days the screen has distorted so badly that it is completley unuseable.the person who I bought it from took out acer advantage warranty which runs until october 2006,I have all the documentation on this and also the original invoice from when he purchased the computer,I have been told that some companies will not honour the warranty if the item has been sold on,does anyone know If this is true?,My way of thinking is that it is the computer that is under warranty so who owns it now shouldent be a factor, any advice would be great thanks.

Acer's warranty does say that its non-transferable. Meaning, yeah if it was purchased off of ebay the warranty is void.
