Acer aspire 2930Z help please :(

Hi all, Im hoping someone can help me with the problem i have, About 3 years ago my wife bough an acer aspire 2930z laptop, Since she has had it its been nothing but trouble, The first ever problem was the power jack had to be replaced as the solder points had come away (i fixed that problem), The second problem was the fan randomly stopped working so i replaced that too, Now more recently her screen went dodgy, It started with random bright pinks and green colors on the display, Ive replaced the LCD wire with a brand new one with fixed that problem, Then the screen went completely grey/white, Ive bough a new inverter and fitted that but now the screen is black with no display at all, Ive tried putting the old inverter back in just to see if the new inverter is faulty but i still just get the same black screen, Im out of options and have nothing else i can think of to try, Also there doesn't seem to be and hard drive activity either, Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: The fan also stopped working again and a burning smell come from the laptop, So im guessing its fried?

EDIT: Sorry for so many edits, Im updating as im trying things, I got the screen back to a bright white display again and the hard drive activity is now working again, The laptop boots up (i can hear the windows starting music) but still just a white display.

 

The smell seems to suggest it's time to call it quits and back up all the relevant data.
