I think this is pretty common on acers but let me give you a quick synopsis on the issue and maybe get an idea or two that I haven't yet tried.

The laptop had an issue with the charger and battery going bad. So I replaced the charger and threw away the bad battery-- now the laptop boots up but nothing appears on the screen. Normal drive and fan sounds and LED activities are noted on boot. I tried using an external monitor but nothing went to that either. It may be noted I am not using a battery at all- just the AC adapter straight. I thought about flashing the BIOS but Im pretty sure that wont work simply because I dont have the BIOS set to boot from USB. The screen itself is in great shape and I'm pretty sure its not the inverter or the back light either. Any ideas on what I should try?

You should try to read the manual , of how to activate the external VGA .
