My Acer aspire 3002LC starts up ok, the problem I have is that I only get a very faint showing on the screen. When I say faint...I mean you can just see the cursor if you look hard enough. I have plugged my desktop monitor in to the laptop and it works fine. Could anyone please help me out here. Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards Rayzor58

sounds like the LCD has packed it in, could be just the connection to the LCD or the LCD itself.

Are you seeing a DOS like cursor or the mouse cursor? If you see the mouse cursor it could be the backlight. If you see a DOS like cursor - well that is the worst case. In that case SideSwipe is right - if you have guaranty - get it back to Acer - if not and you are handy enough to get to the inside of your notebook - check all connections to and from the LCD!
Oh do you have switched monitors with FN+F5?

G'day Tom, when and if I can see the cursor it is the mouse cursor. Since I posted the problem I am having I haven't been able to get it to work on the desk top monitor. The laptop will bootup and show the windows bootup screen on the desktop monitor and the the vision disappears. Not sure what is happening. Any further help would be great.
    Thanks and Regards Ray
