I bought this laptop in December 2007, 2.0 ghz amd turion 64x2 but for some reason with only 512mb RAM. It was super cheap and I was told that it would not last more than 2 years or so. Mine is still going strong (or as strong as it ever was). It has unbelievably never crashed but has hung quite a few times when I've been multitasking. It is no slower than it ever was (i.e. it was always quite slow!). There's very little change in the machine's performance from when I first bought it.

Have I been lucky? Anyone else have any experience with this laptop? I'm curious to know how long the laptop survived for others so I know what to expect in the future....

In my experience lower spec'd machines always last longer than the more serious desktop replacements. No idea why.

Upgrade the Ram would be enough 512MB is too little for Windows OS.
    At least a 2GB.
