I am not sure what happened. It was working fine this morning. I had it in safemode and was running advanced system care free and avast antivirus free. The system care found many registry problems and advised I restart the computer. I did and when it got to the login screen the mouse and keyboard weren't working. I turned it off via the power button and went to safemode, they still didn't work. I then restarted it again and went to the BIOs screen I went into repair mode. Here the mouse and keyboard work fine, but the only account the repair mode gives me to log into is Other User and for the life of me I don't know the user name or password. I have tried every username and password I have ever used. There is no way to get around it.

I also tried shutting down the laptop and unplugging everything, I took out the battery and then held down the power button for 30 seconds, this did not work either.

I am at my wits end. This is the only computer I have and I do not have the money for a new one. Right now I am using my brother's computer. I have work I need to do, I can't have this happening right now.

Reinstall Windows. It's not a hardware problem so you can either try to fix it or just reinstall Windows. In case you decide to do the latter- remember to back up any essential data you have on C partition.

Also before you do this- check what happens if you choose to roll back to last working config (a recovery option at startup)
