So my laptop had come with 512mb of ram i had it running fine for about 3 years now and recently decided i wanted to upgrade the ram.

I bought 2gb of ram from here 2GB (2x1GB) RAM MEMORY UPGRADE ACER ASPIRE 5315 | eBay

I installed the ram fine booted up and everything and running fine for about 10 hours, untill i was extracting something using win rar then i got the blue screen error and i turned the laptop off, turned it back on and kept getting blue screen error, but then i turned it on and i came up something like "Hard disk failed press ctrl+alt+del to restart" so i took the ram out and put back in the 512mb ram and it booted up but got blue screen again after about 10 minutes, so i reset my laptop to factory default and it started up fine, no blue screen so i turned it off and put in my 2gb of ram and it didnt start up, it makes a sound as if it's trying to start up for about 5 secs and then just stays at a black screen. so i took out the ram and tryed just 1 gb and it works fine, then i tryed 1gb and 512mb of ram and it worked fine but with 2gb it dosnt boot up.

    any soultions ?

Well, first what does that supplier mean by "seller refurbished" ram? The price is very close to the price from Crucial - you can look up your laptop on their website and get guaranteed ram from them.

Sometimes it is the socket that you are seating the ram into that gives a problem and a few goes at installing and removing the ram may help, but it all sounds as though one of the ram may be faulty.

Try each one at a time in each socket to narrow down the problem.
