Hi I bought Acer Aspire 5315 (hard:80Gb ,Memory:512Mb ,screen cystal 15.4" ,DVD RW , web cam, built in microphone, BUT Video memory 64 MB (Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) X3100).
Wherever I search the net i found that video memory:up to 358Mb then why mine shows 64Mb? is there anyway to increase it? I am running windows vista.

Buy more RAM. That "up to 358MB" is when it borrows system memory. You should at least buy a 2GB stick to add to your 512MB stick for a total of 2.5GB.

You mean that the video memory automatically selected.... and it depends on RAM....and if i increase it, video memory increases.( I was worried because one of my friends told me that even if I increase the RAM, 64 Mb is the largest video memory That i can get)...Is that True?
    Please say he is WRONG!

Increasing the RAM should increase your x3100 memory.

By the way why do you need more video memory? In x3100 case this won't boost the performance trust me

Adding more RAM is just generally a good idea - a faster, more responsive system all around, and better multitasking too.
With the price of RAM as low as it is, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to afford an upgrade to 2GB or more.

Sorry, the X3100 is very slow and wont use more memory, no matter how much more RAM you buy. Its a marketing gimmick, the IGP cant use any of it.

How are you running vista with 512MB RAM??? That must be lagapolooza.
