my acer aspire 5610Z laptop slipped out of my hand and my lcd display was cracked. I tried to hook up a external monitor but it will not work unless it is in safe mode. I have tried everything I know to do to hook it up but nothing has worked. What do I need to do to hook up a external monitor. my screen on my laptop is not showing at all so I can't go into control panel and change anything. I have to just work in safe mode. I can't afford a new screen right now and would like to get my external monitor to work. Please help!

Have you tried setting the external monitor as the default monitor while you're in safe mode?

Have you tried Fn+F5 combination? If not try to use this combination after the boot-up and everything loads completely. Just make sure to press fn+ twice f5.

    Hope it works.

Thank you. I was trying the Fn+F5 but I was not waiting until it fully booted up. I could not see on my laptop screen to know when it was booted up and it was waiting for my password. I went in safe mode and took the password off so it would boot up fully and then pressed Fn +F5 and it worked. Thank you.
