I shutdown my laptop which was sitting on my laptop stand. When it is on the stand I leave the battery out and always have it unplugged. I shut it down and was going to move it to my lap on battery power. After turning it off and inserting the battery I went to hit the power button and nothing happened. I assumed it was because the battery had run out. I got the power cord and plugged it in with the battery still inserted and nothing again. This means no lights no screen, no fan nothing at all completely dead. I then though it may be the power brick or the outlet i switched to another outlet in another room and made sure the green light was present on the brick. It was tried again and nothing. Tried with battery in or out. The ac adapter is not wiggling in the laptop. The brick appears fine and the wire for it seems OK to. Any thoughts?

So you can't boot up your laptop at all now? Sounds more like a power board or AC adapter issue to me.. It could even be the mobo. Do you have another AC adapter you could test out?

I do have an ac adapter i can test with but its about 120 miles away. My one question is does the motherboard have any kind of status light on it to show its getting power?
