I sleep with my laptop in my room.. turned on and downloading of course. I like my room to be pitch black, but with this acer 6920 and all its, what seems like 10000 watt blue lights (power plug in, opposite side of that, and acer logo on front cover) it looks like a spaceship is in my room!!! and they lights are VERY VERY bright for only being .5 x 1mm big!! (impressive acutually.. you cant even look directly at them) it has caused me to have to put my t shirt over the laptop at night covering up all its lights, but not the cooling fins + fan, and has become quite the hassle.

so is there any way to turn them off? or disable them?

I can easily access the side ones and was thinking of just dabbing over them with black paint marker from work... it might not fully stop the light from getting through but at least they wont be as bright, might even make it look cooler  . but the top acer logo light still needs to go.

    thanks.

Hmmm...with mine, at least, there were little round plastic things that fit into the blue-LED parts of the 6920G and blocked it out. Of course, you couldn't use the one on the AC adapter side b/c the power cord got in the way.

Don't know if it's possible to turn them off outright; I believe it's hard-wired into the machine. Sorry!

There might be an option in the BIOS if you're lucky. I know that my Toshiba has an option to turn off all lights except for the power ans status lights, in the BIOS.

Simply use a black marker (sharpie) or black adhesive tape ;)
