Acer aspire 8930G tips

I have this notebook for over a month now and everything is working fine, but I was wondering if there are any know issues that can be solved to improve work quality, or do you have any tips on upgrading drivers and software.
I would be glad to here every tip or advice you have on this notebook or notebooks in general.

I have a problem that I have noticed some time before but havent happened to me for a while, until today.
When I turn off my notebook after it has been working for just a couple of minutes it wont shutdown properly, Vista shuts down, goes to black screen but the power is still on.
When my lappy is working for longer period of time, it shuts down ok.

Any suggestions?
