Hi I have got a problem with the battery life on my acer aspire one d270. What's happening is when I charge the battery it will read on screen as for example 78%, but will shut down without warning while plugged in to ac. The battery will then be fully discharged. The note book will not boot up while plugged in to ac unless I remove the battery. Help please

Sounds suspiciously like the battery is causing a short circuit somewhere.
Make sure that the battery connectors are clean. Other than that you may just replace it.
