I work at Staples and I had a customer tell me that she lost the charge on here battery because she had the battery in the laptop while she had the ac adapter plugged in. Is this true?

I know you can charge the laptop and have the ac adapter plugged in while using the laptop because on the specs sheets the companies usually list the time to do so, but does the battery lose its charge if you leave the battery in after it is charged?

The battery may loose it's ability to effeciently hold a charge over time and it will/could shorten the life of the battery but it is not an overnight event or a 1 week kind of thing, if it's a new battery to begin with.

yes batteries will loose 5-7% of there charge periodically when plugged in if it loose more there is a problem and if it happens right away there is a problem, there should be a period of a couple of hours bettween startup and this mini-discharge.

    hope that helps,
