    Acer battery life, only one hour!

    I recently purchased an Aspire 1800. Superb piece of kit and quality but lousy battery life. Does anyne know where I could get a better battery...an 8 cell or otherwise please, or evn another battery at a good price?

    Hi, you're lucky to get one hour, max I get is 40 mins. But then this a desktop replacement notebook, not a mobile, thus the battery is only really there as a backup. I don't think you can actually get a battery that will give you longer life, I'm afraid that if you wanted more you should have gone for another model, sorry.....

    In a notebook that size and with all those power-consuming components in there, it is not uncommon to have a battery life such as that.

    Acer seem to give a 4-cell battery to all its laptops... sighs... hey john where are u from? i know a website in canada... its battery-collection.ca

    It's a giant 17" desktop replacement- Its common to have horrible battery life. Also its an 8-Cell, that's the max size and 1hr is it's max.

    Right - the 8-cell will give the notebook much longer battery life - technically, it should nearly double it. Thanks for the link. ;)
