can anybody tell me what application gives the osd for the caps lock/num lock that normally shows at the bottom right of the screen, I have volume osd so it must be separate to that.

I wiped and re-installed my os yesterday.

The 5810T does not have an led for caps lock or num lock so the osd indicator is invaluable.

    Thanks.

I cannot seem to find any software on the Win7 upgrade dvd or the recovery driver/software cd or the acer website.

    Can anybody help?

Did you download the right version for Windows 7? 32 bit or 64 bit?

You're right. It shouldn't make a difference. I don't know what else to look for. What you might have done differently is restored your system to the factory defaults, uninstalled the crapware, then installed your upgrade to Ultimate. You could have then created an image of the boot drive so you could have an easy restore point. Then everything should still have been working.

I have my entire original hdd , archived with "Paragon Backup & Recovery 10" so a system restore is not a problem.

I would just like to know why the caps lock osd is not working.

It is part of the WIDCOMM Bluetooth software by Broadcom. The part responsible for the caps, scroll and num lock on-screen displays is called BTTray.exe.

I have the bluetooth software installed ?

Looks like you are right , I switched back to Win7 Premium and ended the BTTray process in taskmanger and the caps lock does not show any-more.

    Thanks for the help +REP

I know what happened , who would have thought the caps lock and num lock osd was part of the bluetooth software , that is the most stupid , what i did wrong was use device manger to install the bluetooth drivers , when you need to run the setup to install the osd software part.

So what happens if you have a timeline without bluetooth do you not get the caps lock and num lock osd or is there as seperate driver ???

    All fixed anyway. :)

Hey thank you very much! :)

I've just bought a 4810TG and after reinstalling launch manager twice I've been wondering where those indicators were gone!
After reinstalling the bluetooth driver the indicators are now working again! It's so silly...

i meant: it's such a silly design to put those indicators in the bluetooth driver instead of launch manager :)
