So I posted a while ago saying I had bought an Acer 3201xci.

I love it yada yada...however the one gripe we all had was that the advertised 5400rpm drive was in fact 4200rpm.

I just got in contact with an Acer customer service person, they put me through to the corporate offices and the bottom line is that, at absolutely NO cost to me, they are going to ship me out a 5400rpm drive. I don't even have to send them my old drive first, I can do that up to 15 days after I recieve the new one.

I'm extremely pleased with this service - and I hope anyone who was mistold the drive speed has similar luck.

wow! that's fantastic of them, you can't ask for better service than that. Put a check in the plus column for Acer customer service.

They told me the 3201xci has bluetooth. Can I get bluetooth installed if it doesn't have it? Does it have bluetooth???

But have you actually gotten a bluetooth device to work on the 3201XCi without any other adapters???

I don't know if being from Germany affects things at all, but here's what I did:

Call the Acer America number, get through to some customer service person (i forget what option it is, but the menu is easy enough to follow). Then Explain the problem. They'll do one of two things: Create a case # for you and have someone higher up get back in touch with you or forward you to the corporate offices and they'll do pretty much the same thing.

Just emphasize that you purchased the notebook with the strict knowledge that the drive was 5400rpm. If you spoke to a customer service agent previously who confirmed this or if you saw the info on an Acer website, that's always good to mention as well.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Blueman,

Yesterday I got my 3201 with a Hitachi IC25N060ATMR04-0 which is the 4200rpm drive. Can you please email me how you managed to get your drive changed?
Since I am from Germany, I am not familar with America warranty politics..
