Acer driver installation order?

Hi all

I have installed windows on my notebook and now have to install all the drivers manually. I made a application and driver dvd, so i have all the drivers.

My question is - Is there a specific order that everything should be installed?

On my desktop i usually go Motherboard drivers CD and then my vid card driver. Most of the posts i have read so far all describe a different order of installation. Most also install Intel chip driver and then VGA driver, whereas i would usually do all my motherboard drivers and then VGA??

What is recommended?

Also, is there any drivers that i dont really need to install?

Okay well I installed everything and it all seemed good until i found that my bluetooth isnt doing anything (could be something simple i have overlooked?)...

Here is a list of what i installed after XP:
-Intel Chipset INF v7.2.2.1006

-Foxconn Modem Driver v2.1.60
-Synaptics TouchPad Driver v8.2.9
-Intel Wireless 802.11abg v10.1.0.11
-Logitech WebCam Driver v9.4.0.1120
-Bluetooth v5.0.1.1500
-NVIDIA VGA v83.60

It also had these drivers, but i was assuming they werent needed (This is because i went into the device manager and looked at any hardware that had more then one driver in the list and checked what the manufacturer was - hence i only installed that driver?) Other drivers:
-Intel VGA Driver v6.14.10.4497
-Bison WebCam Driver v5.0.0.5
-Foxconn Wireless 802.11bg Atheros v4.0.0.14001
-Broadcom Wireless 802.11bg v3.100.46.0

After the Bluetooth wasnt working i tried installing -Broadcom Wireless 802.11bg v3.100.46.0 because in the device manager it said that it was manufactured by Broadcom. But still did nothing.

Basically i would click on the bluetooth icon and nothing would happen. Even in control panel clicking on Bluetooth configuration link and nothing.

What might be the problem?

 

Delete driver from device manager, and any bluetooth software.

Reinstall Bluetooth driver.

Do you have any Beta software installed? sometimes that the problem.


Did you try to do a Search for device from a bluetooth phone or any other device? If it sees your pc then bluetooth works.

Basiclly keep playing around with bluetooth until something happen,
It's hard to know what the problem is from a forum.

Please tell me that you actually have Bluetooth in your laptop, sometimes theres a bluetooth button but no bluetooth. Like the PC in my sig, I had to buy a Bluetooth USB Dongle.

 

When will the bluetooth maddness end? They have got to come out with a replacement for this poor technology.

I just spent days messing around with the Bluetooth menus, installing new drivers, rebooting, etc before I could finally get my Bluetooth phone and printer to work again after a reload.

And there's no clue what really resolved the problem.

I can tell you this, do extra re-boots as you change bluetooth settings. It's such a crappy implementation, that often a strategically placed reboot will solve your problem.

 

Hey, Yeah i definitely have Bluetooth on my laptop

I will try removing the driver etc.

There couldnt be an issue with SP2 and XP could there? I say this because i read somewhere that some people were having an issue when not using the preinstalled copy (supposedly that one comes with some hotfix regarding to wireless pc's and the dual core technology?)

Was i correct in not installing those other 4 drivers from the list?

 

Tried removing the driver etc. but no change.

When looking at the bluetooth driver on my app cd, it actually says to enable the bluetooth device before installing software and driver... I didnt do that...

But how do i enable the bluetooth before i install anything? Looked in the Device manager and cant see anything? my notebook has 2 buttons on the left next to the keyboard (wireless and bluetooth) but the bluetooth is currently not lighting up when i press it? so how do enable it?

Just for reassurance ppl, my notebook definitely has bluetooth integrated.

just to double check i reformatted from the recovery cd and yes my bluetooth defintely works...

when it was installing it got to a point where it said enabling bluetooth, then it said starting foxconn bluetooth... however i tried installing the foxconn drivers before an it didnt work...?

i did notice that i did miss out installing the IntelSet driver application... could that be involved?

im gonna need to reformat the notebook again and go through reinstalling everything individually... so if anyone has any suggestions for what i should do then it would be great to know now, before i get started and back to the same point i was at before...

ps. was i correct in not installing those other drivers from the list (refer to previous posts)...

 

i have a problem to, i have an acer 9304, and i have no drivers, how can i get them because i want to instal win xp am deinstal the vista, thanks
