Hi, I'm having a problem with a Vista based Acer that needs a fresh start.

It boots fine on the first CD but fails after disc 2 i inserted.
Any ideas as how to solve the problem?

    Hi,

please check your HDD. Perhaps it is bad (and thus cannot be formatted).

The HDD is running fine, no errors, but do need a fresh install as 2 years of use has started to build up some problems and is performing poorly.

The partitions should be same as they were originally for eRecovery to function. If you have made any changes to your partitions, you could revert to original state and try.
