Sorry Guys for the OT but I'm about to get. W8 tablet and based on avaibility the w700 seems to be reasonable. I will use it for office work, some Photoshop and maybe some light gaming. The question is that if I should buy the i5 CPU or because it's a tablet and it has a 128mb video card anyways I should some some money (about $170) and get the i3?
Did anyone else got any w8 tablet yet?

    Thanks

The HD 4000 video card is the same in the i3 as the i5. Judging from how you plan to use it, I would suggest getting the i5. Photoshop and light gaming can really benefit from the turbo that the i5 has. I really like this tablet and am really trying to find an excuse to get a windows convertible/tablet.

I would recommend the I5 because it is a big increase in power compared to the I3. You will notice the difference in Photoshop, I am pretty sure.

Also, It is a very good tablet for the price.

If you're used to Acer notebook, you already know that most Acer laptops are plagued by throttling problem. The W700, despite it's a tablet, is no exception. So, you won't get the performance of an i5, check it out here

I got the i3 tablet with 64 GB a couple of days ago. Wanted a device that works as a tablet & as a PC, and I got it. Had the same concern about performance, but am positively surprised so far. I am using office apps and software development and architecture tools, and they are usable (meaning fast enough to not interrupt regular workflows).

Have not yet tried gaming, and photoshop may require more resources, both ram and cpu. I have read people replaced the 64 GB SSD with larger ones. I am at about half space (total available incl OS is 59 GB) after installing office and a couple of Software Development tools.

The graphics quality, and also the overall quality of this tablet is ways above previous Acer products I owned. Note: the graphics driver on early tablets (including mine) is buggy, needs to be uninstalled and updated ( Acer Iconia W700 Wi-Fi problem - Page 3 - Acer Support Forums ), and some power settings need to be changed Now the wifi is flawless.

The tablet has vents on top, but a lot is crammed into a small space - I assume the throttling mentioned elsewhere in this thread makes sense to keep the device from getting fried.

Just picked up this tablet from microcenter. If you have one in your area, I recommend checking to see if they have it in stock.. it's a great price and you have the peace of mind of returning it to a physical store should you have any problems.

I've been stressing over a laptop / tablet / whatever for quite a while now, and I must say, I'm finally satisfied in pretty much every way. What a device!!! Highly recommended if you're like me and can't stand the slew of ty-screened laptops out there or the tablets without enough power to do any real work on.

It's funny how close the 11.6" screen is to the 13.3" screens on the zenbooks.. I held it up right next to it in the store and there's barely any difference in screen size.. so if you're expecting something roughly equivalent to the ipad you're going to be pleasantly surprised by how much more spacious it is. The 1080p resolution is beautiful, and the gorilla glass keeps it smudge resistant and relatively usable in sunlight.

It comes with a ton of great accessories.. a nice leather case which doubles as a stand, a solid aluminum bluetooth keyboard (no case for the keyboard, though), and a dock which gives you three USB 3.0 ports instead of the single one on the tablet itself. It also has a micro-hdmi to vga adapter (although a micro-hdmi to full-sized hdmi would've been preferred, tbh)

Windows 8 is fast and responsive, and I've already installed a bunch of apps I need for work and they all work great. Of note is that it comes with "Windows 8", not "Windows 8 Pro" - so you don't get the group policy editor or other 'professional' tools.

Any specific questions, feel free to ask. Again, I've been looking at a LOT of laptops recently.. in fact I returned a nice Sony SA 13" right before getting this Acer.. and it really blows everything else less than $1,000 out of the water in my opinion.
