I was all set to order an acer AS2012WLMi, had all the features I wanted at a good price, but then I saw a review that said the keyboard was not ergonomic because it was too close to the screen. I make my living writing, so a comfortable keyboard is a necessity.

I'm now considering other Acer models, but I wonder if they all have a similar keyboard configuration and similar ergonomic problems. Anyone care to share their experience?

I use my 2012 for graduate college.
I have to do a lot of typing - works fine for me.
The most comfortable position is with laptop on your laps.
On other hand having it on a desk is also ok.
And I really enjoy its battery life: can carry it around campus and use wifi without AC adaptor for over 4 hours.

3201 might be a good choice, but it is not wide screen notebook and has smaller screen. You can also look at TM4000 series.

And BTW there is no subwoofer in 2012. only 2000 and 2020 models have this option. The sound is pretty decent though. Lack of bass but clear and loud sound.
