Have had a Acer 5003 WMLi for a couple of weeks. Everything has been great till today. It took forever to boot, CPU usage was at running 100% with QtZgAcer.EXE. Ran Norton with updates (said it found something only shown as a symbol in the MBR but could not repair). So I Uninstalled Acer Launch Manager and everything is back to normal. So did I have a virus piggyback onto launch manager or am I way off base? Bloodhound.MBR is now showing all clear.

Probably not. I wouldn't trust Norton to give me any kind of accurate information. I occasionally experience ePower_DMC and/or Gravisense using up large amounts of processor power. One of the first things i did in setting up this system is replace the windows Task Manager with Process Explorer from SysInternals.com. A free download that allows me way better control over everything that is running on this system and provides Way more info for troubleshooting. Process explorer allows me to kill any process or service or restart it. When i have the above mentioned problem i just restart these apps and they then behave normally. Should have tried that first.

I'm sure these applications should not be behaving this way. I will bring it up to acer.

Thanks Yellow11, I'm going to look into Process Explorer from SysInternals. Sounds interesting.
