Hey guys, I'm a longtime HP guy that has been looking for another HP but noticed the positive reviews about the Timeline series. I've been doing research but was trying to confirm just a couple of things:

I really like the brushed aluminum/black look of the X series but it's hard to tell online what other model lines have that look. Is it just the Timeline and Timeline X or does it include the Aspire line too? Is build quality about the same for the 3 lines? I'm going to likely snag a 14" (possibly 15.6 but don't need keypad) and other than the HP DV5 (not crazy about the looks) and Probook (poor sound), Acer's starting to look pretty good!

If I've overlooked something on this forum or you have any other insight, any input is appreciated!

The Timeline series had an aluminum look (think of the back of an iPad). The TimelineX series and other Aspires have the brushed aluminum look. I recommend doing a Google image search for large images.

Ok thanks, that was the main thing....I remember the silver look vs the brushed alum/black look. I just couldn't tell if the Aspire had the same look as well. It almost seems like some online sellers just blindly (or slyly) pick images at random to represent various models at times...
