On Pg. 97 of the August 2005 issue of PC World Magazine is a full-page color ad for the Acer Ferrari 4005 which announces a "$200 price cut" and states that the new list price of the Ferrari 4005 is $1999. However, no US reseller is selling it for that price yet. Acer says that their marketing department made a mistake. Off the record some of the people at Acer are hinting that a price cut is coming and the ad was prematurely published. Just FYI.

Wow, that's really shady. They should at least offer a rebate or something...that's a huge mistake.

They were probably trying to guess when the the Z70va was to be released but since its no where in sight they just hold it off by saying its a mistake. The Z70va is jus like the ferrari but with intel and can be customed for cheaper price. They should readjust their price when the Z70va hit stores, which can be the 12th, mid september, or who knows when.

that's like worse than a bait and switch ploy, it's a bait ... and nothing. Of course if you bait people with a price and then don't offer that price you hurt yourself and don't help in anyway because the people won't buy it and then they'll be mad at you. That's a lose, lose.
