Acer orbicam problems.

Well i bought this laptop and i use messenger and stuff, and i just wanted to know.. Why when i open acer orbicam it says it is busy by other programs.
i want to know why is this, it will be greatly apreciated.

note: it just happens sometimes

 

i have a similar problem - i think
when i try to use my acer orbicam with Windows Live messenger is says that the cam is either unplugged or in use with another problem - but it isnt.
the webcam works independantly to take pictures though

please help

 

has anyone found a solution to this acer orbicam problem,mine does exactly the same

 

you may want to try removing the orbicam software and just leaving the driver installed and see if that sorts it out. I have a feeling that the software has a background thread that is causing this issue with messenger

I removed all the orbicam drivers then downloaded the drivers from here

and now it works fine.mine used the Bisonbar software.
my cam is the low res one not the 1.3meg

 

Ok incase nothing has worked for any of you i too was in the same category as you all in fact my orbicam stopped working fullstop and beleive me i aint no wanna be technician but i thought id try and get going so that i can take photos of my son.....well i tried everything that was suggested i disabled the orbicam driver just so that i could chat on msn....i tried logging in a different account it didn't work.....i tried to uninstall and all that jazz AND still that didn't work......SO WHAT I DID WAS I WENT INTO COMPUTER AND JUST LOOKED IN ALL THESE FILES TO FIND THE SETUP OF THE ACER ORBICAM (wizard) IF SOME HOW ANY OF YOU CAN FIND IT IN YOUR SYSTEM AND RUN IT YOU WILL GET IT GOING AGAIN WHEN I FIGURE OUT WHAT I DID ILL BE BACK ON HERE TO GIVE YOU ALL FULL DETAILS ON GETTING YOUR CAMERAS RUNNING AGAIN.....please believe me when i say that i ain't no fix it computer geek i like my beers and partying but why i say this is cos if i can do it then all of you can to...peace

 

got the same problem

it worked for past 1 and half year and suddenly just sttop working

reinstalled drive and still no luck

 

Not sure about the cam, but why is it when you press on an Acer keyboard it goes down to a point where you literally could pop it off, it leaves a gap....
I was at Staples and for the fun of it, I pushed on a key and hooked it with my nail...if i wanted to I could have went home with a "k" key in my hand.
I knew Acer was almost in the tank 10 years ago.....hmm, have they improved any??

 

done it. i found i had trouble when the bisonbar software was showing in running processes. i checked msconfig and found it was running at startup.
so i unchecked the box re booted and found the orbicam worked no more error message saying it was being used by other software.

 

not working for me

mine is logitech, eventough I stopped the background services still giving me same error

I m sure it is sftware related

is it possible we use softeare from logitech directly/
