There looks to be an official recall of some of the timeline range. I was just about to buy one of these so im kind of annoyed.

I rang around a few retailers and acer, i wrote my findings on this blog http://adamblanchard.wordpress.com/2009/10/10/acer-recall/

I thought i should let people know this because if you own one of these you should get it checked out.

A statement from Acer (according to comet UK) confirms a new "refreshed" model with an updated microphone wire (the cause of the problem).

I hope this "new" model will be out soon.

It got me quite a bit. I was shopping around yesterday and saw a 3810t on the currys website. I went on today to ring my local store to see if they have one in for tomorow and it wasnt there ! Im glad they are sorting the problem out though.

You should have ordered one with the TG Radeon Graphics.
It is as good as a 9400M G

I am more interested in battery life, I am not a big PC gamer , I prefer a console , my only PC game is battlefield 2 and a 4500MHD should run it OK.

It has Hybrid graphics to conserve power as well.
4500MHD wouldn't be fun to play bf2 on.
You don't need anti-aliasing because a higher resolution will fix jagged edges.
