Hello everyone, I'm new here and seem to be having a problem.
Well, I recently reformatted my the hard-drive in my Acer Aspire 5630-6368 and I used the ONLY disc that came with the notebook which is the "Acer Windows Anytime Upgrade" DVD.
I popped in the disc, restarted the computer so I could boot off the DVD, I then proceeded to type in the Windows Vista Home Premium product key that came on the bottom of my notebook. I then deleted the partitions that came standard with the notebooks and created 1. Vista proceeded to install perfectly fine but when I came to the desktop I noticed that NONE of the software that came standard with the notebook had been reinstalled. This is the first time I have reformatted this particular notebook, but I had reformatted other notebooks in the past with their recovery disc(s) having them reinstall the software that came from the factory.
See, my problem is that I don't get ANY of the factory software. For instance Power DVD, and NTI CD-DVD as well as Acer Arcade Deluxe are supposed to come installed from the recovery disc for me to use the upgrade patch. But nothing comes pre-installed, I just don't understand whats going on.
I don't understand, am I missing a disc or something because I have checked again and again and their is only 1 disc that came with the notebook and its only about a month and a half old.
Any help would be great. Thank you.

The Vista Anytime Upgrade disc, while it may have an Acer logo, is a Microsoft disc that just does a clean/upgrade install of Vista. It will not restore your programs, in even in the case of an upgrade you almost always loose your programs.
You'll probably have to contact Acer and try to get Vista compatible versions of all the software you had. -
Did you just use the key from the bottom of the computer and it worked fine? If i were to have another oem version of the Windows Upgrade Anytime Disc would that work with my serial number?
Acer recovery disc, not recoving.
