    ok so im sick to death of all the stuff going wrong with my acer aspire 5920G so ive decided im going to give the idiots at acer a call and get them to send someone to pick it up

    i want to know how long it should be gone for

    the problems i have are;
    the hard drive, the recovery partition not working and a few other thing. and i think the hard drive is failing(after less than a year :( ) so they should just put a new hard drive in

    the bluetooth is not working anymore so that could be the module or the motherboard?

    and the tv button is not working (should get fixed with the new hdd)

    i live in brisbane australia and it has to go down to sydney and back for repair (roughly a day each way depends on how they transport it?)

    so whats other peoples experience with this, in australia and around the world?

    this would (i think) only take a day or less to do if it was done straight away, right?) so it should be between 3-4 days right?

    cheers

    Unfortunately I can't tell you how long it's gonna take them, but my guess is between 4 days and 2 weeks.

    I'm in western Canada (BC) and had to ship my Acer to the other side of the country (Ontario) for a repair. I had to pay to ship it there and they paid to ship it back. This was a non-warranty repair ... it was also a non-repair (as they told me that the part I needed was no longer available, of which I am skeptical - another thread altogether). Anyway, my non-warranty, non-repair took an entire month ... culminating in a telephone call saying they couldn't repair it and would I like it shipped back?

    I have since been given the contact for a regional sales rep who is trying to help but I'm honestly not too optimistic for the outcome.

    The background: Acer Aspire 9920G. Appeared to have dead motherboard but replaced the mobo on my own and it still doesn't work ... hmmmmm....

    Depends where you live. I know Acer Africa has an amazing turn around time with with properly diagnosed and hence spot on repairs.

    Here, probably have it back within a week.

    Delivered to your door. Working properly. And nothing else wrong.

    Probably why Acer is the prefered product to sell here by the likes of Incredible Conecction etc... And that was late 2006. Probably still true.

    Not so much about the product as in the service backup.
