    If anyone could help me

thats the email i just sent to Acer support:

Hello, i have for about 20 days purchased a TravelMate 2428 at CanadaComputers. My problem is the following: Sometimes, very very very rare, the computer screen seems to get unpluged and the image goes away and i get a black color or a dark red color, but the computer does not freeze. (I was talking on Skype with my brother when it froze, and i could continue talking wih the black screen). So, i figure out if i put the computer to sleep and come back, it would resume the screen and it worked.

But as a new computer, i have this screen problem about 6 times so far within 20 days using my computer. I would like to know what i need to do in order to fix that.

Right now i am at Toronto, Canada, but i will be leaving canada on February 20, so i need to fix it the soon as possible.

Please, anwser my email to help me, [email protected].

    Thank you

Is your monitor just turning itself off after the default period because the system is idle?

No, i am not that stupid :)

It seems that on dynamic processor mode, they LCD panic and shuts down. And if i set the computer to sleep, than wake him up, it goes back to normal.

But i gtot 6 times a black screen, and 1 time a redish one.

As the Acer has not replied my email, i got an easier suggestion to reinstall the graphic driver, and i did it. So far, 1 day with no problem. I just have to test more (it happens realy random e rarely, last week (7 days) i got 3 crashes)

This happens to me sometimes but I think it is because I overclock my video card. I have it set to auto overclock and when it changes clock settings, sometimes the screen turns off but I can still hear sound and everything. I have to turn my computer off and back on and then everything is fine.
