    I have Aspire 3935 and this is the first Acer for me.
    It seems that my laptop doesn't come with any power management application.
    What about other Acers?
    I know Sony and Lenovo have their own power management tools so that you can power off DVD drive or modem as well as can specify battery charge level.

    My new laptop, Aspire 3935, didn't come with it and it is not listed under Application tap.

    I wonder if ePerformance Tool is optimized for each series of laptops.
    It must be, otherwise I don't see why they have not included it from the beginning.

    Use Vista Power Management.
    Follow this rule for software:
    Less=More.
    Less Software, Less Problems.

    I am looking for a way to reduce battery drain by disabling things that I use less frequently such as USB port, DVD burner, card reader and Lan port.
    Any suggestion for such a tool?

    Vista Power Options has a turn off USB when not in use.
    If you want to disable it for a longer period (like modem who uses 56kbps?) simply disable it in the Device Manager
    It does save power as the OS will not device poll for the hardware.
