    Hello,
I think I damaged my ZIF cable while trying to upgrade my HDD to an SDD.

Does anyone know where I can get a new ZIF cable? Or how I can fix this? The drive is recognized about 50% of the time when I boot up, but won't be recognized as a boot device when it is...

I know the drives are good (I tested them on my other machine).

Or, looking at the pic, does the connector look damaged (the clip fell off, but it goes back on and things line up flush)

    Pics attached.

    Thanks.

from my experience, sometimes it doesnt detect even for me, and sometimes the white thing does pull out but eventually it will work fine

i'd say try again but insert your hard drive first and then attach the zif and then push in the white thing LAST
